Common Questions

What People Are Asking Us

Which of your training services is right for me?

There's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all curriculum, though you may notice similarities from one to the next. Obedience Training, for Unruffled Paws, offers the opportunity to cover a wide range of material whereas Behavior Specific Dog Training is limited to one command per session and a Board and Train program is intensive, sometimes fast-paced, and aims to solidify positive habits and behaviors. Reach out to the team to decide which of our services best suits your needs.

Do you provide walking or boarding services for senior pets?

Short answer: yes! We love our senior fur-iends and are experienced in many aspects of their care and mindful of special needs from pet CPR and First Aid to medication administration.

What is your approach to pet training?

When we're first beginning, we use positive reinforcement - the addition of toys, treats, attention, etc. to a dog’s environment - to get everyone accustomed to appropriate behaviors and building healthy habits. As a balanced training facility, we then take steps to help both you and your pet curb the more undesirable habits. We take great care to familiarize ourselves with your personalized training routine, and diligently strive for forward progress prior to offering corrections.

Is my pet too old to be trained?

Outside of medical restrictions, we believe that dogs are capable of learning new information at any point in their lives.

How do I know my pet is receiving the best care?

We strive to create a home-away-from-home for every pet in our care. On top of accommodations to keep all pets feeling  comfortable, content, and loved, the Unruffled Paws team will send you daily updates with details on your pets' stay with us to help you feel just as comfortable as they do!
